PHOENIX - The family and friends of former Arizona Gov. Rose Mofford will hold a public memorial and celebration of the life for the beloved state leader.

Mofford, Arizona's first female governor, died Sept. 15 at the age of 94.

The public event will be held at Phoenix's Orpheum Theatre on Oct. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

The doors will open at 12:30 p.m., seating is limited, and free parking will be available at the Adams Street Garage.

Those who plan to attend are being asked to, in lieu of flowers, donate to one of the following Phoenix community service organizations:

• Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix
