PHOENIX - According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 54-year-old Young Lee was the victim of a deadly wrong-way crash Tuesday night.

DPS said Lee was headed in the right direction when he was hit by a wrong-way driver on State Route 51.

Young Lee owned Don’s Cigars near Central Avenue and Camelback Road in Phoenix. One of the shop’s customers who knew the 54-year old said he was a great man and cared about the community.

12 News spoke with the boyfriend of Young Lee’s daughter at Don’s Cigars. As you can imagine, they’re asking for privacy as they cope with the sudden loss.

A red sedan got onto I-10 headed west in eastbound lanes from Sky Harbor around 7:45 p.m., and crashed into a white sedan on the southbound SR 51 transition ramp.

Another driver was injured in a third car that was also involved in the collision.
