Dogs rescued from being wedged between walls up for adoption Friday

The Australian Cattle Dogs will be up for adoption Friday.

PHOENIX – Two dogs will be up for adoption Friday after they were rescued from a tight spot.

Animal control officers were called to the area of 31st Lane and Ocotillo Road Monday for two stray puppies on the loose.

Neighbors told the officer that the dogs had been in the area for a couple of days and could not be caught.

After several minutes of searching, the officer found the pair had wedged themselves into a small space between two brick walls.

The officer blocked off an escape route and lured them out, one at a time, with some chicken.

The pups are both female Australian Cattle Dogs – a blue 10-month-old and a 1-year-old brindle – according to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
