PHOENIX- A dog stuck for days on the roof of a Phoenix home is now down safely thanks to officers from the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.

MCACC says the dog had been stuck on the roof since Sunday.

The homeowner had been feeding and giving the dog water but just couldn't get the dog to come down.

Officers responded to a call at the home Thursday and immediately contacted the Arizona Humane Society who brought a ladder and net to get the dog down safely.

It is not known how the dog got on the roof.

MCACC estimates the Chihuahua mix to be about 3-years-old and says he will be held at the West Valley Animal Care Center while his owner is sought.
