PHOENIX - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has pleaded not guilty to criminal contempt charges brought against him.

Arpaio stands accused of intentionally violating a federal judge's order to stop racial profiling within the sheriff's office.

A hearing is set for Dec. 6 in the case.

Arpaio is also currently bidding for a seventh term in office, running against Democrat Paul Penzone.
