PHOENIX - An Arizona Pastafarian wants others to join in his fight for "religious equality."
Sean Corbett was originally allowed to wear a pasta strainer in his driver's license picture, but now the MVD is pulling it, saying it had given him the ID in error.
But Corbett says his religious beliefs (that the world was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster) meet Constitutional requirements to be a religion, and thus, his strainer should be allowed in photos.
"According to their rules, Pastafarians do qualify," Corbett said. "So I do encourage all Arizona Pastafarians or people of other religions that are obscure and have religious head ware to go down there and not let the MVD bully you."
This comes after Corbett requested ADOT's policy on digital images. Corbett was told he needs to come back and retake his photo without the strainer or soon it will no longer be valid.
