12 Who Care: Dog is My Co-Pilot

Dog Is My CoPilot (DIMC) saves Maricopa County's abandoned cats and dogs by flying them from overcrowded area shelters to parts of the country where they are quickly adopted. DIMC connects MCACC and HALO Animal Rescue with organizations in northern states who are in need of dogs to meet the demand of people looking for adoptable rescue animals.

DIMC then flies the animals from Scottsdale Airport to Boise, ID, Missoula, MT, Jackson, WY and other states where the animals are quickly placed in a fur-ever home.

DIMC's Co-Founder and Director, Judy Zimet is an attorney and luxury real estate agent living in North Scottsdale. She and Co-founder, Peter Rork, a retired surgeon who pilots the missions, began the organization in 2012 and have flown thousands of animals to new homes. Their missions cover 11 western states, and they work with over 50 animal rescue organizations. There is no charge to rescue organizations for the transports. DIMC fuels the plane on donations from animal lovers across the country.
