PHOENIX - Three people are injured after a driver of a car ran into a crowd of people at a parking lot near 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road, said Phoenix police.

The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

The three people were standing in the parking lot when the driver of a blue sedan struck them, then immediately fled the scene.

Officers found his car abandoned a short distance away.

They are still searching for the driver and his male passenger.

Two of the pedestrians were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

One had minor injuries and remained on scene.

Witnesses tell police the collision happened after an argument between two groups of people.

Detectives are investigating.
