PHOENIX (AP) - Police in Phoenix say a 61-year-old woman has died after she was hit by a car.
Authorities say the incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday in the area of 39th and Camelback avenues.
According to witnesses, the vehicle struck her and left, heading eastbound on Camelback.
The victim, identified as Christine Marie Hamblen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Chevrolet Impala with dark tinted windows, possibly a 2008 model.
Investigators say the car would have damage to its headlights and front fender.
