As the sun faded out of sight Thursday evening, the Arizona sky lit up with colors.

Arizona is no stranger to colorful skies, but one could argue July 6's sky had one of the best sunsets across the state so far in 2017.

The mix of colors were astonishing.

The sky spectacle comes at a time where some of the first Monsoon 2017 storm chances move across the state.

In the Valley, residents can expect excessive heat (through Friday at 8 p.m.) and storm chances which will increase by the weekend. There's also an ozone high pollution advisory in effect.

Thunderstorms chances will also increase through the weekend in the High Country.

But for now, just sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful colors across Arizona.
