It may be one of the natural wonders of the world, but when it comes to being Arizona's best tourist attraction -- the Grand Canyon comes in seventh place. At least, according to the people who voted in USA TODAY's 10Best list.
The "Arizona's best" title belongs to Kartchner Caverns State Park in southeast Arizona.
Tucked away off State Route 90 near Benson, Arizona southeast of Tucson, Kartchner Caverns was founded in 1974 and is home to some incredible cave formations.
Visitors to the state park will get the opportunity to tour the cavern system.
"This impressive cavern system continues to 'grow' as dripping water deposits minerals on the existing formations," 10Best writes. "Features include Kubla Khan, the tallest column in Arizona, as well as one of the world's longest soda straw stalactites."
The caverns topped the competition which included the Desert Botanical Garden, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, London Bridge and Prescott all in the top five.
Sedona finished at the bottom of the top 10 list.
