Out of Africa Wildlife Park welcomes new tiger cub

Sunrise will eventually join the other tigers at Out of Africa Wildlife Park in the Tiger Splash program.

CAMP VERDE, Ariz. - Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde recently welcomed a new addition to the family, a 12-week-old Bengal tiger.

Sunrise is from a wildlife park in Missouri and will spend the rest of her life with the Out of Africa family.

"She'll be visiting other tigers here shortly," said Dean Harrison, the owner of the park. "We find that youngsters do much better with the adults."

Eventually, Sunrise will join the other tigers for the Tiger Splash program. But before that can happen, she will be introduced to Sage, a mountain lion cub found abandoned in the wild a few months ago.

Right now you can visit Sunrise at Out of Africa Park in a temporary enclosure next to Sage and Totter, the baby otters.

"Oftentimes when we have a youngster, you know they’re so cute, when you see it your hands go up to your face and you go 'Oh my gosh!'" Harrison said. "It goes deep into your heart because they’re just so cute."
