The Pima County Sheriff's Department said a deputy shot and killed the brother of a woman who called 911 to report he had broken into her home.

According to the sheriff's department, 56-year-old Brenda Doucette called 911 Thursday night to report that her brother, 55-year-old Chancy Chamblee, had broken into her house through a window and had a gun.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Chamblee still inside. The sheriff's department said during deputies' initial contact with Chamblee, one shot and killed him.

Deputies later found Doucette inside the home with apparent signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The shooting and deaths are under investigation.
