Flagstaff city parks flooded with snow enthusiasts amid winter storm

Dozens of people were seen playing in the falling snow throughout the many different city parks Saturday.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - Crowds of people, many from Phoenix, littered the parks of Flagstaff to enjoy the fresh snowfall on Saturday.

Nicole Lozano and her family piled into their van and came up for the weekend, just to see the snow.

"I woke up at 7 to see the snow fall because I don’t know it just seemed like something so magical and it really was," said Lozano.

Julie Lara, her husband and two boys also came from Phoenix but weren't sure what to expect since the season has been so dry.

"We bring the sleds, we have all our gear but this time it’s been kinda dry so not sure what it's gonna be like," said Lara.

Many also had trouble finding somewhere to sled.

"It would be nice to have a consistent snow hill," said Taylor Boyle of Phoenix.

But many were seen running out of local stores once they saw how much snow was on the ground.
