HAVASUPAI, Ariz. (AP) - Coconino County Sheriff's officials say a Utah man has died after collapsing during a hike in northern Arizona.
The name and hometown of the 32-year-old man wasn't immediately released Monday.
Sheriff's officials say deputies responded to the Havasu Canyon Trail near Hilltop in Havasupai on Saturday afternoon after getting a call about a downed hiker.
Authorities say the man was hiking out of the canyon with several others when he collapsed.
The other hikers were able to put the victim on a horse and get him to the Hilltop area, where CPR was performed by bystanders until paramedics arrived.
But authorities say the man couldn't be revived.
The body was transported to Flagstaff and the county medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
