The Arizona Department of Public Safety said two of its troopers were injured in a crash on I-17 just south of Flagstaff.

A DPS Box Truck delivering dog food to the canine units was rear-ended by another vehicle, causing the truck to roll on its side, according to DPS.

Officials said a sergeant and trooper were inside the truck at the time of the crash, with the sergeant sustaining superficial injuries and the trooper sustaining serious but non-life threatening injuries.

An ambulance took both to the Flagstaff Medical Center.

According to DPS, the driver of the van that struck the truck was 19-year-old Van R. Rothermel of Tempe. He was booked into the Coconino County jail and faces charges of DUI, aggravated assault, endangerment and possession of drugs.
