14-year-old arrested after another student overhears violent threats

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - A 14-year-old was arrested at Bradshaw Mountain Middle School Sunday after another student overheard him making threats of violence, according to police.

Police said the statements were reported to the school and police officials, who responded immediately.

After an investigation, the teen was arrested and taken to Yavapai County Juvenile Detention.

The Prescott Valley Police Department is using the incident to remind people that there is zero tolerance for any language that can be understood as threatening or intimidating to another person.

They said they nor the school district will consider threatening language to be a joke.
