PHOENIX, Ariz. - For allergy sufferers and those with food sensitivities, a trip to the grocery store is anything but easy. The food industry has answered the call for alternatives that meet the needs of the allergy-free community. And this weekend, the largest gluten-free and allergen friendly expo in the U.S. is coming to the Valley.
The Gluten Free and Allergen Friendly Expo’s two-day event is equipped with vendor exposition and educational classes, with lots of taste testing in between.
“Gluten free foods and allergen friendly foods are expensive so it’s a place where you can try before you buy and that’s something that’s hard to do today,” says Jen Cafferty, founder and CEO of the Gluten Free Media Group.
GFAF’s mission is to make life easier for the special diet consumer, empowering them with resources and alternatives to make healthier choices for themselves and loved ones.
“I think what so many people are surprised about at the expo is that there are so many products available - there’s really something here for everybody," Cafferty said.
The GFAF lasts until Sunday and tickets can be purchased at the door.
