PHOENIX - Many big names are coming to Phoenix for concerts. Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Pink and Faith Hill and Tim McGraw to name a few. Getting tickets to the concert might be impossible though, unless you try a few of these insider steps.
According to Fan Freedom, when concert tickets go on sale to the public, up to 90% of the seats may already be sold to fan club’s, radio stations, venue season ticket holders and more. That leaves you with almost no chance of getting a seat.
The first step to getting tickets is networking.
“Everybody knows somebody, put it out there on social media, hey I’m looking for tickets to this show, somebody knows somebody,” said Anne Morrone, Owner of Paramount Entertainment.
Next tip is risky, but try getting your tickets day of concert.
“If you go to the show a little late, maybe miss the opening act, you can find ticket’s available for face value or a little bit cheaper,” said Morrone.
To save money, skip the ticket service charges and go directly to the venue’s box office to purchase tickets. You can even try sites like TickPick.com that claim they have zero hidden charges, no services charges and you can also name your own price.
And even when tickets are sold out, sometimes stadiums and venues release extra tickets the day of the show.
Joining the fan club might be the best insider secret.
“This way you’ll get pre-notifications of when tickets are going on sale for the fan members only before they go on sale to the public,” said Morrone.
This is especially true for Taylor Swift. T-Swift teamed up with Ticketmaster through the Verified Fan Program. The more points you earn, the better chances you have of getting tickets. Simply go to tickets.taylorswift.com to create an account. Then you can boost your points by joining the Taylor Swift mailing list, get friends to register, buy merchandise, pre-order the reputation album and more. All will improve your position in line for tickets.
You have until November 28th to sign up and tickets will go on sale to the public on Wednesday December 13th.
When tickets are released to the public, be prepared to purchase within the first few seconds.
There's also sites like Ticketwood.com that aggregate deals from multiple broker websites to help you find the best price.
