From grocery stores to convenient stores, lucky tickets can be found anywhere.

PHOENIX — A $1 million winner in Gilbert. A $500,000 ticket sold in Tempe. Over $300,000 in lottery winnings going unclaimed in Goodyear.

Numerous retailers across the Valley have seen lottery players win some high-value prizes over the past five years.

But where is the luckiest place to buy a lottery ticket in Arizona if you're hoping to win big?

The Arizona Lottery released its updated rankings for which of Arizona's stores have sold the most lottery tickets that have won at least $10,000.

Jackpots continue to grow and multiple places are handing out winning tickets. Lottery players like Dale Beach are winning big.

"I actually think I have one of the winners right here, I bought four lucky lotto tickets today," he said.

Beach bought tickets from the Frys in Surprise hoping to hit it big, buying several scratchers. He said that after scoping out the list of hot spots released by the Arizona Lottery, it was time to take his chances.

"It's listed as one of the more popular stores for selling winning tickets," he went on.

From gas stations to grocery stores, lucky tickets are being shelled out everywhere.

John Gilliland with the Arizona Lottery said that stores across the Valley have seen players score some high-value prizes over the past five years and it's not just the tickets themselves.

"Some stores have more winners than others but because the lottery is random that's really a function of the number of tickets they're selling rather than kind of luck at that store. There are some prizes out there that rival the lower and big prizes in draw games, so scratchers are very popular with players, they give instantaneously a feeling of excitement knowing that a million dollars could be just a scratch away," Gilliland said.

So whether you choose random numbers, pick your favorite dates or scratch to win, luck is in the air in Arizona.
