SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Great Wolf Lodge is set to open its 18th North American resort right here in the Valley.
The resort known for its indoor water park will break ground on its construction site next to the Salt River Fields at Talking Stick Friday.
According to a press release, the Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will feature a 85,000-square-foot indoor water park -- the first of its kind in Arizona. Additionally, the resort will have 27,000 square feet dedicated to a family entertainment center or Great Wolf Adventure Park.
The 350-room resort will have family-friendly suites in a variety of styles, including "KidCabin" suites, per the press release.
Great Wolf Lodge Arizona will be located at 7333 N. Pima Road in Scottsdale -- along Pima Road, just north of Hummingbird Lane.
Renderings of the new Arizona location will be released Friday at the groundbreaking ceremony.
The resort is scheduled to open in 2019.
