LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - Wildlife World Zoo, Aquarium and Safari Park welcomed the first marine mammal born in Arizona.

Sunny the sea lion was born to his parents Paris and Crocket earlier in October, the park said.

According to Wildlife World Zoo, the sea lion exhibit was designed to, one day, welcome a baby sea lion. The exhibit has nearly 150,000 gallons of man-made salt water, giving the sea lion family room to raise Sunny.

Sea lions are highly-intelligent animals, the park said. Sunny's mom, Paris, was actively participating in ultrasounds before the pup was conceived.

Wildlife World Zoo encourages guests to visit Sunny in his new surroundings at the park.

Located near State Route 303 and Northern Avenue, Wildlife World Zoo is open every day from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is home to more than 6,000 animals, making it Arizona's largest collection of exotic animals.
