PHOENIX - A 9-year-old girl is dead after being injured in a crash Monday morning, police said.

Just after 7 a.m. Monday, police responded to a crash at the intersection of 51st Avenue and Broadway Road, involving a dump truck and an SUV.

Police said a woman driving the SUV, with two children in the car, turned left in front of the dump truck. The truck driver remained on scene and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

Phoenix fire transported two children, ages 7 and 9, to Phoenix Children's Hospital in extremely critical condition. The 9-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police identified her Tuesday as Jocelyn Baymon. Police said she was wearing a seat belt.

According to fire officials, a woman was also taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said on Tuesday that the 7-year-old, who was also wearing a seat belt, remains in critical condition.
