PHOENIX - You can check out the supermoon, weather permitting, from anywhere in the Valley. But a place to take the family would be the laboratory at Gilbert Riparian Preserve.

The moon will be 14 percent bigger than the average moon.

The best times to see it are Saturday around 5:15 p.m. or Sunday around 6 p.m. The forecast calls for cloudy weather this weekend, but Gilbert observatory says that could make for a romantic viewing.

The preserve is located on the southeast corner of Guadelupe and Greenfield roads in Gilbert.
