Matt Mauro is a co-anchor for 12 Today. He joined 12 News in December of 2014 as the anchor and host of EVB Live, then started setting the alarm early in June of 2015. Matt didn't have to travel far to get to Arizona. Before coming to 12 News, he was next door in New Mexico, as the weekday morning anchor at KRQE/KASA in Albuquerque. There, Matt anchored and reported on everything from the largest wildfire in New Mexico's history, to the most photographed event in the world, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta and the award-winning show Breaking Bad, which was filmed there.
Matt has also worked as a host and correspondent for Hollywood Dailies and Spotlight on Reelz Channel in Los Angeles, as well as other entertainment networks and shows. He started his career at KWCH-TV in Wichita, first as the bureau reporter/MMJ in Dodge City, then as an education reporter and eventually as a morning anchor on both KWCH and KSCW.
Matt was born in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up near Tampa, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida.
When he's not working, you'll probably find Matt outside. He enjoys running, mountain biking, hiking and reading.
